Klezmer Fusion Band to Perform at First Presbyterian Church, Followed by Artist Talk with Laurie Wohl

First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor invites the community to an afternoon of high-energy, cross-cultural music with the Klezmer Fusion Band on Sunday, April 6, at 4:00 PM in the church sanctuary. This dynamic performance will be followed by an artist talk with internationally acclaimed fiber artist Laurie Wohl in the Social Hall.

Blending Yiddish/klezmer, Israeli, and religious music with jazz, Latin, Caribbean, and rock rhythms, the Klezmer Fusion Band creates a lively and danceable fusion of Old and New World sounds. Traditional instruments like clarinet and mandolin are backed by a jazz rhythm section, producing a unique and captivating musical experience.

A free will offering will be collected during the concert to support the Jewish Family Services Resettlement Program, which assists refugee families in the Ann Arbor community.

Following the concert, attendees are invited to the Social Hall for an artist talk with Laurie Wohl, whose Open Doors Art Exhibit: Meditation and The Shabbat Project will be on display at First Presbyterian from April through June. Wohl, known for her unweavings and interfaith message, will discuss her work, artistic process, and the inspiration behind her liturgical and interfaith pieces.

These events reflect First Presbyterian Church’s commitment to fostering art, music, and interfaith understanding, welcoming people of all backgrounds to experience the beauty of cultural and spiritual expression.
